US suspends travel from Brazil
This travel ban applies to individuals who have been in Brazil 14 days before they request entry to the US. US citizens, green card holders, spouses, parents, legal guardians, or children of a US citizen or lawful permanent resident, and most siblings under the age of 21 are exempt from this restriction and may still seek entry.
The restriction will not affect trade between the two countries.
The suspension is to take effect on 26 May at 23:59 EDT (03:59 GMT).
